Jack Eagle was a Borscht Belt comic (saw him at the Nevele in the 70s when I was a kid). He did the Brother Dominic schtick onstage and it killed. This ad campaign was a huge hit.

God, that brings me back. I saw the other day that Marty Allen died. I didn’t recognize the name at first but as soon as I saw a picture I remembered seeing him on all the variety shows back in the old days. Here he’s shown with some no talent hacks that never amounted to anything.

I think a lot of the younguns would be surprised how big of an impact Xerox has had on modern life (especially the innovation at PARC). The machine that changed the world is most likely the Xerox 914.

Allen & Rossi were just huge way back when ... his June 2014 interview on Gilbert Gottfried’s podcast is just a joy. You’ll need Stitcher Premium, I think.
